Will I make a couple thousand euros, or lose?

tobacco stocks are priced for disaster; smoking is being out-lawed in western countries, therefore there can't be a future in tobacco companies.

I believe that smoking will remain in the west for years to come, and that an increase in smoking in the third world will off-set regulatory decreases in the west. Therefore tobacco companies will remain highly profitable despite the market not believing in it.

Furthermore, nicotine is a drug that will remain relevant whether or not tobacco is outlawed or not.

how? how much did you invest and leverage? 😲
I had 62k dollar in british american tobacco.
my broker allows me to leverage up to 3.2x . Only 20k of that 62k is mine, rest of the position is borrowed.

I blew up my 300k portfolio in 2019 because I was only invested in financial derivatives which will literally go to 0 if you are unlucky JFL.

Now I only stick to stocks, no more derivatives. But with extremely high-leverage of 3.2x because normal investing is boring tbh.
It's still risky, but it's less likely I will blow up my portfolio again like this.

I also have a leveraged position in TSMC (Taiwan semiconductor) which has performed EXTREMELY well. Outperformed my tobacco position by a large margin.

I am up 12k already in 2024 lol. The stock market is insane rn. pure euphoria, everything goes up.

My hairtransplant is back on the menu. I contact dr.ferreira today to have my consultation scheduled.

Just hoping I don't get burned.

The healthcare costs of having a smoking population is A LOT less than the costs of useless elderly NEETs who take free pension money. Goverments will maybe promote smoking in the future as a population control, same idea with meat products

YES YES YES

ALSO NICOTINE IS AN AMAZING SUBSTANCE. PERHAPS SMOKING TOBACCO WILL BECOME LESS POPULAR IN THE FUTURE, BUT OTHER MEANS OF GETTING NICOTINE IN YOUR SYSTEM WILL BECOME MORE POPULAR

HEATED TOBACCO PRODUCTS (INSTEAD OF BURNING)
VAPING

ETC

JFL AT NOT INVESTING IN NICOTINE COMPANIES

financially im doing really well recently. I just don't know what to spend it on though, so all I do is just keep investing it all.

But it's the wrong strategy. I hate my life and I should spend a lot of it to try and improve my life quality in some way (other than drugs).

No point in having money without life. Now I am still somewhat young and have the energy to enjoy it.

try to get to that 400k point again, but this time dont make mistakes like that
if u actually succeed then you could just passive income maxx FOR LIFE, as it gives you like 3000$/ month , from which you could travel the world or whatever, as most of the world earns that only if you're a doctor or lawyer aka upper middle class

ultimately, it will be a failio to stay in uber expensive western shitholes, where houses cost 1 million $ lmao 🤦‍♂️
it doesnt matter if this process takes you a few years; life only ends at 45 :Comfy:

I agree with passive income maxxing.

But you also need to enjoy life, investing in your happiness.

crazy vibe I had in this topic. mirin' my old self.

Ended up holding onto my tobacco position till this week and it has stayed completely flat. Massive opportunity cost since the rest of the market has skyrocketed since February. Lost out on 5-10% of gains (~5000 dollar).

I finally made the decision to cut the position in half last week, buying more google and amazon.

Now I am thinking of getting rid of the rest of it too, but still haven't found a replacement company for it that's in a similar sector.
May end up simply replacing it with an ETF in the end.
