Would hypertrophy of the tongue improve the palate and lower 3rd? Would it accelerate the mewing process if you apploed more force?

Develop a more muscular tongue using tongue weights?

Use a bottle to gradually increase load.

Just mew, that's enough for tongue strength. You should be more concerned with jaw strength, it helps your sleeping oral posture and mewing as a whole to chew hard gum (without damaging the joints of course)

Grab a piece of gum, and use your tongue to flatten against the roof of your mouth roll it out completely, do that a couple of times a day. It’s what Mike Mew suggests for increasing tongue strength. Yes tongue strength will help you mew harder and stronger but it’s not exactly needed as mewing hard will make your tongue stronger and bigger anyway.
