But I end up noticing that while going through my day, this slight edge of blackpill-pain seeps through.

The point is that an overflow of emotions, both good and bad, will make you do stupid shit and fuck up your life.

Being in love with a girl will make you do stupid shit that can have dire consequences.
Being sad and depressed will make you waste your time.

Life is more than just emotion. Being stuck in a dead-marriage, in a dead-end job, will fuck you up. (And will also make you feel like shit)

And you most likely got to that point through emotional choices made years before. Feelings of love, feelings of loneliness, and more.

I used to read a lot about investing strategies a few years ago as I had a lot of wealth back then to invest. It is generally known that being risk-averse comes at a huge cost. And that taking risks has huge premiums overall.

Most people would rather see their wealth increase by a more steady 3% over the years, than have their wealth increase by 6% on average but with bigger swings. And I believe this mentality holds up in most aspects in life.
