#1. Neon Genesis Evangelion
Probably my favorite anime of all time I literally had an autistic fixation with this entire anime for 1 year and it made me seriously spiral into an existential crisis for a week straight. Really revealed to me the lonely state of man in a way that I never thought about. It also really brought me closer to god I think the show is symbolic for a lot of things that will happen in the future with AI/human hive minds. Just got a combination of so many things great Sci-fi great deeper messages religion the human condition so many different topics in it. Even if you don't enjoy the anime you certainly won't be bored if you watch it.
I am going to rewatch the entire thing again. Just a complete mindfuck I recommend everyone watch it and remember Rei is best girl...!
#2. Welcome to the NHK
The only anime as depressing as Evangelion that messed me up for a week. Its probably more relatable if you have ever been an extreme shut in. Its about a hikiomori shut in with extreme anxiety who is alienated from society. Lots of incels if they aren't NEETs would probably relate but Satou isn't an incel more a mentalcel. The entire anime convinced me to stop being such a shut in literally got a wagie job and went back to school just to avoid the depressing conclusion of being a NEET. I recommend it to anyone who has ever been a shut in...

Technically the anime is not complete although the 1997 one is pretty amazing but I am including it eitherway. If you just watch the 1997 anime it plays like a greek tragedy it really is an amazing story. I would probably make it higher if the anime/manga ever gets finished but in either case the Golden Arc is amazing the contrast between the main characters Guts and Griffith is amazing. Also a depressing anime too but it has many good messages and a very well written story.
#4. Jojo's Bizarre adventures
This anime is harder to rate because its not as consistent of a show with the many different seasons. But it really is such an interesting show and it has some of the best fight scenes in anime and is just an overall good watch. Unlike the other shows its not very deep not many profound questions to ask but I just enjoy the plot and its such a wacky show. Not all parts are equal but so far there hasn't been a single bad one.
#5. Cyber Punk Edgerunners
Its harder to rank animes past this point since there are many good ones but this one was very interesting. My only complaint is that its very rushed they really should have made it more episodes or just did a second season and developed it slower. But I am a sucker for any Sci-fi or cyberpunk future shit and this anime was great it also has a really compelling character that you want to see succeed.
