Going to order my own Derma-pen, so that for subsequent microneedling treatments, I can do them at home, more frequently than every 8-12 weeks at my clinic, where I am spending 350AUD per treatment.
For those who do DIY microneedling with a pen, I am curious as to the strength of numbing cream you use? In Australia, only 5% lidocaine is available OTC. I'll need a prescription or to import lidocaine cream if I want stronger.
I want to do 2.25mm to 2.5mm in depth per treatment, which is still painful even with the cream that the clinics offer. So, does anyone have any recommendations for a strength of topical lidocaine given these depths, and how I should go about finding it?

I will mark the best reply as solution, but if you can comment from experience, that would be best, thank you.

For anyone curious, microneedling is a Godsend. It completely cured my atrophic scarring. Now I just have pigmentation/sun damage/aging concerns and very minor closed comedones which I will just use isotretinoin for.

I would recommend it to anyone even in their mid teens.
