i traveled from Lugano to Berlin by train (2 trains, 16 hours total). the first one was from lugano to zurich and it was a high speed modern train, views were amazing, especially going through the alps. second train was a sleeper train from zurich to berlin, felt like cattle car going to auschwitz (couldn’t sleep at all, no beds, and some frankfurter ogre thought it would be funny to take off his shoes and have the whole carriage smell like cheese

I rode the trains from Lugano to Milano and Geneva to Zurich, I recommend it, nicer than the trains in the US. I saw a French-Swiss almost Stacy working as a conductor on one of them.
