Sry for no tagmirin traveling
i live in new york its like 120-150 a night, the cheapest for a motel is like 80 bucks a night. Before in like 2007-2012 it was like 10-15 bucks a night got a cheap motel , and for a hotel it was like 30-40 bucks a night.Traveling didn't used to be expensive in the US, but over the past 30 years the cost of a hotel room has gone up far beyond the rate of inflation. Part of that is taxes, I am not sure what the rest is, but greatly increased insurance costs is probably part of it.
In 1992 someone could rent a modest but decent hotel room for $30/night plus like $5 in tax. That same hotel room in 2022 is $95/night plus like $25 in tax.
I am seriously considering buying a travel van.
