This is a thing, right? How do I avoid this? Will just simply not rubbing any tret close to my eye area in general keep the fat there safe?

I put moistruizer and vaseline under my eyes then apply the tretinoin. Can't say for sure it works but people seem to think it stops it from migrating

It isn’t just to avoid eye fat loss, tret can cause horrible dry eyes

Not that simple lol, no matter where you put it on your face it will still cause the loss of fat pads.
Tret is a massive no no imo.
A much better anti aging stack is GHK-Cu (it’s better if you inject it subQ), Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E, C (+ ferulic acid), Matrixyl, HA, Ghee/coconut oil- whilst supplementing with 250mg Vitamin C orally, collagen supps (no sweeteners) accompanied by a meat based, mostly raw/rare, diet, with raw liver daily, and when possible, drinking blood and eating adrenal glands of healthy, grass fed animals.
As it’s fairly relevant, use AHK-Cu on your hair too, and use a mix of ghee and coconut oil on your hair, massage it in, twice per week before you have a shower, don’t use shampoo.

Is tret bad then? I use every other day .25 and layer with moisturizer. I don’t put it near my eyes but I want to lose my buccal fat pads a bit tbh

what about using tret on specific parts of the face for the hollow cheeks look since fat pad loss?

It depends, don’t think there’s a consensus on the fat loss effects of it
how to stop dry eyes? water eye drops?
If you experience dry eyes while using tret, first just try keeping it far away from the eyes. If that doesn’t work you should just stop tret before ur eyes get worse. That’s what I ended up doing. If u don’t stop it it’ll fuck with ur oil glands and give u chronic dry eye

Not necessarily, it’s undoubtedly an amazing product.
That being said, if it was me (I have naturally low fat around my eyes yet have good under eye support and deep set eyes + great browridge, so for me, if I lost the little bit of fat that I have in that area, it’d be very detrimental.

From what I’ve seen (and I’m HEAVILY researched into this stuff), it will basically target every singe fat pad in the general area of topical application.
I’m currently researching into something called tazarotene, it’s retinol with supposedly zero sides commonly associated with it; dry skin, fat pad shrinkage (needing more info on this aspect) etc.
I’ll likely never use anything like this anyway though, I like to stick to relatively natural measures as I mentioned above (+ peptides when they’re heavily vouched for by high iq users and/or numerous studies eg. Copper peptides, Matrixyl,)

What about using tret as a spot treatment?
My undereye fat pad was already raped by accutane and I’m getting implants to fix that area.

My supraorbital fatpad though is very good and I wouldn’t want to lose any of it, would applying tret on small acne spots on my cheek area still affect my supraorbital fat pad?

why i dont use tret
The cold-induced increase in vitamin A led to a conversion of white fat into brown fat ("browning"), with a higher rate of fat burning.

Tret will not cause fat loss. I do apply it all over the eye area since thats one of the places that will age first.

Do NOT apply Tretinoin close to your eyes. It gave me severe dry eye.

Do you have some evidence, or strong argument that this is myth? (Honest question, I use tret, and dont want to lose my fat pad)

Not even that, tret increases skin thickness by increasing colagen.

Tazarotene works faster than tret when it comes to fighting sun damage/wrinkles etc, but it is also slightly more drying/irritating. In the long term, half and year to a year of usage, they are both equally effective at fighting skin ageing. For me it comes down to princing, tret is cheaper, tazarotene is more expensive.

do your eyes ever sometimes tear up cause of dry eye
It’s been a chronic symptom for me ever since accutane. I still get it occasionally even though it’s been almost 2 years since I got off it
