Why aren’t more people on trifarotene? Obviously accutane mogs but for people that have acne on their body and aren’t using accutane - trifarotene works really well. Trifarotene is built to target only the RAR gamma receptors (Retinoic acid receptors) and has extremely good clinical evidence for body acne compared to other retinoids like taz, tret or adaplene. Trifarotene can also be easier to spread around the whole body without finishing in a week unlike small tret or taz tubes. Additionally people already on accutane can use trifarotene on the body while still using another retinoid on the face. Don’t reply with some stupid muh accutane shit because i already said accutane is better but it can be used together or if someone is not on accutane it can still be an effective topical treatment.

I use this for collagen. Works decently but main benefit I experienced is that it doesn’t dry you out as much. Let me know how long it took before you saw large results in acne improvement and skin tone evening/glowiness/collagen. Also, by how much roughly percentagewise did it decrease your acne (assuming you wre actually using it).

It decreased by maybe 40-45% on my body - obviously Accutane is king and it has yielded me much better results however when comparing topicals the volume you get of trif in comparison to tret or taz makes it much more ideal for body acne and it is also designed to target retinoid receptors directly on your body.

It’s more ideal for body acne and licensed for back acne (including face acne) because it works at such a low concentration of 0.005% making systemic absorption really low, so spreading over large surface areas will yield a very low risk of systemic absorption compared to 0.025/0.05/0.1 tretinoin for example. I really don’t know if it is less effective though or more than the others for acne first of all and then for collagen/skin quality (glowiness) secondly. It is very selective for the receptor that actually does the thing you want the most snd I can say honestly that it has caused little dryness and irritation. I experienced skin flaking in first 2 weeks then only 2 day expisodes since, maybe 3 times. Accutane is obviously king but I am not prepared to hop on it, too brutal. Too much liver stress snd mental health effects in particular. Also dry eyes and dry lips. I have only some redness and pimples on my firhead as well as sebacsuous filaments in my nose rn.

The mental health risks from accutane are cope tbh. My liver enzymes are still within range on var and accutane both so I’m fine with it.
