So far recovery has been awful, I can assure you that. Id rather not reveal the surgeon, but hes not very known either way. It was covered by insurance, but if I had to go by the usual numbers, it was probably 20k. I think I will have to pay for the prescreening tho, which should be around 6k.

Here’s my take on it:

-I did have breathing issues, which led mainly to sleep problems, probably could have been fixed by just doing the septum

-My chin had a really nice shape even before (projected but not too pointy, looked perfect from certain angles) but it was simply set too far back due to my mandible, guess I will look better now when sitting straight and looking down at my phone JFL

-My upper jaw was shifted to one side, my bite was still fine somehow, but I guess it’s better to have it right in the center

-I did have a visible nasiolabial fold on one side, the other side also but not that much, I’ll see how that looks once the swelling is down

Overall I’d say it’s not worth it. The recovery is brutal and I tend to worry a lot, so now I have to think about nerve damage or what the anesthesia did to me. They told me I punched people in a half awake state after it was done lmao. You also lose a lot of time when recovering. Think twice before hardmaxxing srsly.

I had a schizo phase where I thought I needed it by all means and eventually I was like I’m too far in now to go back lmao. But maybe it came off a bit too critical, I do think that my mandible will look better once the swelling is down and if the surgeon really managed to fix my shit septum, which again I can judge once my nose is not clogged anymore, then I’m all for it.

Also I wasn’t necessarily content before, it’s just that I eventually realized I’m not as chopped as I thought I was.

We’ll see how it looks. Not knowing the end result is kinda nerve wrecking too and no simulation on a screen will come 100% close. Honestly I think tho that these procedures are only really suited for people who are borderline deformed, where you really get a massive return of investment. Obv I wasn’t part of that group. But like I said earlier, if the mandible comes out better, I’ll probably be thankful eventually.
