Violent crime outside of strongarm robbery isn't documented over there because it's not a big enough deal to go to jail over. Even here in the US it's nowhere near as documented because their communities are are more tight knit as ours. Unlike us they keep their dirty laundry under wraps. Victims are way less likely to report what happened and witnesses are way less likely to cooperate with investigations. Your experiences are very limited.
