OP, if you have the possibility of going to med school or law school, dont trade that for a fucking truck. Its trendy to shit all over degrees these days, but those two are quite decent options, not some liberal arts bs.

Doubtful you would be able to compete with most trucking companies since they are very competitive.

It is possible to make 6 figures if you work 60-80 hours a week at terrible hours and destroy your health. Look at most 40 year old truckers they don't look so good they are raking in the cash if they work 24/7. Nonetheless its a solid option for anyone in their 20's to make money mogs walmart or amazon for sure and some other trades.

There is a reason these places pay so much its because a lot of workers are broken by 40 so its a job your not going to want to work for more then 2 decades. The average software engineer works 44 hours a week and makes 115K a year meanwhile you will work 80 hours a week to come close to that and have zero upward mobility or life outside of your job.

The biggest benefit I would say is that all these industries will teach you skills Law especially. A Lawyer could start a business much easier. Doctors could start hundreds of businesses with their title alone. Its very easy for them to get into the influencer space as some health guru. Or to specialize/start a practice.

Trucking is a better life plan then getting a shitty degree for sure but pick something with upward mobility. Its very doubtful you'll be able to out compete large trucking companies. Average doctor will have a pretty good life high status and high income. Lawyers are a bit different because law is over saturated but assuming you make it to a T14 school which nearly every serious lawyer does then you will also have a good career.

They do have a low educational ranking despite the paycheck because no college required so they don’t get IQ halo like MDs or Lawyers. They are kings in the lower middle class.

CS is ideal if you are smart. Econ and Finance if you make it to a top tier school is a solid choice. If you are not in top 10 school study accounting instead or something that requires hard math skills.

But yeah you won't learn business skills beyond basic excel in most business degrees. Only benefit of these majors are the connections you make. And this matters more so in top tier schools. Everything worthwhile in terms of starting a business you can learn on your own

Long distance Trucker lifestyle is a bit rough.
From what I seen.
1. Not home much, so difficult to maintain social lifestyle.
2. Sitting lifestyle, which equals getting out of shape.
3. Guys with families, equals missing home time alot.
4. Alot have a laizy stay at home wife/gf, whom basically cheats when dude is away often.
