It's because people want you to fail, whenever you do something, they stare at you skeptically, waiting to make a blunder or mistake, if you're successful they aren't happy or impressed by you, more like they raise an eyebrow and are suspicious, they think you somehow cheated or simply got lucky, and when you eventually make a mistake or fail, even if it's something small, they will be immediately be like "Aha!!! I knew he was good for nothing!". They never remember your successes, only your fails, this eventually starts to put a lot of stress on you, and eventually you start to fail more and more.

I remember in school, that occasionally some teachers targeted me, if I seemed distracted or looked somewhere else even for a micro-second, they would immediately come to me and ask me to repeat what they just said, or a question from the course. I would calmly give them the answer smiling, to show I was paying attention but instead of being pleased they seemed more like annoyed - they really wanted to make an example out of me in front of the class.

i have very bad fine motor skills and i cant count how many times ive been screamed at in front of the class by my elementary/middle school teachers for my naturally shit handwriting despite taking my time.
