In the quoted thread I announced my ideas about a possible new blackpill forum I might launch if it gathers enough traction. I suggested that the new website shall have spendable reputation; users would be able to spend their earned rep points on username styles, thread bumps, exclusive items, etc. But spending rep doesn’t subtract from the rep numbers displayed in usercards and in profiles.
I found the way that spendable rep works is suboptimal. Having 2 different reputation numbers, one spendable and the other just for display, may confuse new users. And wouldn’t it be cooler if spendable rep were instead a fully functional “in-game” currency?
ITT I elab the idea into a groundbreaking system: an in-forum currency called PSLbux.
To Gain PSLbux:
- Receive an upvote = +1 reputation and +10 PSLbux
- An answer you posted gets marked as solution = +1 reputation and +50 PSLbux
- Post a post = +5 PSLbux
- Report rule-breaking content = +5 PSLbux
- Every hour of time online = +1 PSLbux
- Log-In Streak (visit the forum on consecutive days) = +1 PSLbux per day
- Get verified = +25 PSLbux per badge
- Donate IRL money to the website = +10 PSLbux per USD
- Refer a friend to join the forum = +100 PSLbux per referral
- Post Quality Recognitions :
- Unlike Looksmax.org, the new forum will have multiple tiers of recognition of high-quality, high-effort, or high-IQ content, instead of a single Best-of-the-Best section. The tiers are labels applied to posts, so threads do not get removed from their original subforums when threads receive quality recognitions. Users can browse catalogs of posts that have certain tiers of quality recognitions.
- “Best of the Best” = +10000 PSLbux
- “S-Tier Post” = +7500 PSLbux
- “A-Tier Post” = +5000 PSLbux
- “B-Tier Post” = +2500 PSLbux
- “C-Tier Post” = +1000 PSLbux
Things Members Can Buy with PSLbux:
- Bump a thread = 5 PSLbux base fee plus 5 PSLbux for each existing reply , the price doubles with each time the bump feature gets used on the thread
- Ability to use animating GIF avatars = 25 PSLbux to unlock
