After decades of alliance between the US and the kurds, trump decided to pull his troops back from kurdish controlled territory and let turkey sweep over it. All he had to do was keep a fraction of his troops there, turkey won't invade as they won't risk killing usa army soldiers. Trump is seriously one of the most cowardly, backstabbing presidents to ever sit the chair, as soon as he was elected, he submitted to Putin and decided to withdraw from syria, despite the early advances, everyone knew a US controlled syria would had meant a lot to the American cause. The only reason behind this is his cowardice.
