Trying to wrestle with the idea of the Money and Status pill

When my brother was in the NFL he got a girlfriend. But I was here thinking, did she get with him because of money and status? Because when she got with him she was still working a career so she probably wasn't a gold digger. When my Mom and I went to visit them we went to the Mall one time and my brother told his girlfriend to tell my Mom she can get whatever she wants from the Mall. But, when they went to a designer store the girlfriend saw an item and told my Mom "Oh, I'll buy these when I get my next paycheck." So it's like, she's not milking my brother cause she has to buy her own gifts sometimes with her own money. Is it just the status pill????

So she will first get a job, pay for her own stuff, pretend to not be interested in money, etc...Then, your brother will probably think she's a keeper, marry her, then it will be unavoidable to start spending money on her since they will leave together. After a few years, she can then divorce him, take half of his money and live happily ever after.

Most likely. They are married now but even before that it seems like my brother was getting tired of her. Him and his boys once went on a trip to Mexico and he brought her along and when they all went to a club together and were getting attention from other women because they were in the NFL. When the girlfriend started to get jealous my brother called my Mom and went on a tirade, saying that nobody told her (the girlfriend) to come along. And he also said that a lot of these people (that he was with) were racist. My brother is definitely not simping. I need to take notes.

It happens a lot with professional athletes, especially after they retire, and the couple dynamics change, now the husband is not constantly training, playing and traveling and many women would eventually feel suffocated by his persistent presence.
