The surgeon replied saying I am a candidate for canthoplasty and lower lid retraction but says I don't need an infraorbital implant and says it is too risky to perform.

What are your thoughts? Is this a red flag?

you can also do infras with someone else and then go to your surgeon for the soft tissue surgerys.

Taban is the only doctor I would be confident can do infraorbital implants alongside oculoplastic procedures. He has done so many more procedures than his counterparts, which is why the negative reviews exist. As a % of all his total cases, it is probably the same as everyone else, probably even lower. His RealSelf is a testament to that.

If you want to avoid Taban, I would recommend implants and then oculoplastic procedures from surgeons who specialise in the respective procedure. However, I prefer getting everything done by Taban - most oculoplastic surgeons refuse to touch implant patients, because things get riskier.
