How are Turks and Azeris "not European"??

Because they're "darker skinned"? OK, then by that logic, most Spaniards, Portuguese, Southern Italians, Sardinians, Greeks and Albanians are "not European".

All of these groups largely have intermediate skin tone.

"Azeris and Turks are not genetically European!"

What do you mean by "genetically European"? Sardinian "European" with their low Northern European component? Polish "European" with virtually no Southern European ancestry? Sicilian "European" with an excess of Anatolian/Caucasian/Levantine ancestry? Mainland Greek "European" with a mix of Northern/Eastern and Southern "European" with a large Anatolian/Caucasian/Levantine component? When we compare Latvians to Sardinians, FST values are 0.023. When we compare the so-called "non-Europeans" that are the Azeris and Turks, FST values are 0.016 and 0.014 respectively. Even when we use the far less isolated Spaniards vs Latvians, FST values are 0.01. For context, Spaniards have a 0.009 value with SYRIANS.

No such thing as "genetically European". There are COMPONENTS of WESTERN EURASIAN ANCESTRIES.

Azerbaijan and Turkey are intrinsically linked with Europe genetically, culturally and historically. Don't like that? Fuck off.

Yes, the boundaries of "Europe" and the "Middle East" are political and not genetic or even cultural. At one point, "Europe" only meant the Latin West and thus Greece was not considered "European". At one point, Sicily was an "Eastern land" because it was overwhelmingly Orthodox and part of the Eastern Roman Empire. Now it's a Latin Western country.

Even if it were a genetic difference I wouldn't care. I live in the US, virtually everyone I interact with on a day-to-day basis is genetically different to me and it makes no difference because we are all culturally homogenous.

as for culture, turks and azeris ARE different from "europeans" since they follow a backwards religion. If I were a german or an italian or a pole, I would want to distance myself from islam and muslims as much as possible

So are Albanians and Bosniaks "different from Europeans"? One may have a point in making distinctions between Turks and Azeris, but not for Albanians and CERTAINLY not for Bosniaks.

Latin Christians historically considered Eastern Christians and "barbarians" regardless of where they were located.

So Islamophobia isn't gonna get you anywhere.

what latin christians thought hold no bearing on my opinion or what I said

Both of those countries are like 50% muslim, ergo, they can coexist with christians and the like without much trouble. Turks are more alike their neighbors to the south (i.e armenian genocide)

I live in an area that has a large turkish community (that I am apart of and intimately familiar with), these turks are not indistinguishable from "europeans" behavior-wise. They behave more like black americans than european immigrants. You'd be a fool to look at the majority of them and say "yes this is exactly like europeans, i see no difference" and that wouldn't be the case if turks accepted christianity instead of islam around 1000AD imo

Yes they are european

If you learned to read, I'm mocking the idea that Azeris and Turks "aren't European" because of their "skin tone" whilst having no problem as accepting various peoples as "Europeans"........despite sharing the same skin tone. 🙄
