Maybe slightly, but the biggest decline happened between 1683 and 1750 during the multiple Austro Turkish wars. Funnily enough my ancestors were catholic until 1740 so the were the ones fighting the Ottomans back then

Brother, when i was young my mother said something similar to me hahaha, is not a belief or something, it is just a North African costume to always eat bread with food hahaha except couscous and some other exceptions, my mother told me it was because it makes one feel more full (which curiously enough, i think carbohydrates don't have that effect but quite the contrary)

North Africa has probably the best pastries in the world, so i guess it's somehow normal that we have that costume
