It’s kind of already at the precipice of extinction. Because cable is basically on its last breath. Everyone is pretty much on streaming services. And you can already use it on your laptop/phone to watch whatever.

Just give it more time, and then yeah, no more boxy screens. But who cares? Still think TVs have their place for now, but for at-home usage, it's dying.
