Twin blocks vs Herbst appliance

Guys i have a slight recessed maxilla at 14 i have heard that twin blocks give you more forward growth and guide your mandible forward but i also heard that they can affect your maxilla should i just get Herbst appliance i heard it doesn't affect your maxilla and can also guide your mandible forward is there a better appliance or should i just get herbst i dont want anything to affect my maxilla i have a projected maxilla i dont want a flat one or narrow one somehow
