The 80's- Poland. Martial law, poverty, people's anger on the streets, expensive food due to comunistic party... ,,Police" beat the strikers, locked them in prisons, broke their fingers, tore nails out because they fought against lawlessness and tried to save dignity of their families. It would seem that Poland always will be under the heel of the ussr but there were two the greatest Poles in history. The first one-
Pope John Paul II.
After he was choosen to become a pope then the communist parties expressed deep concern about John's pontificate because they knew howhis position was strong.
John Paul II, knowing perfectly well the realities of cooperation with the communists, focused on evangelization. Therefore, he did not talk to the communist authorities, but to people, as we observed during his pilgrimages to his homeland. The result of the visit in 1979 were, among others, strikes in 1980. A symbolic expression of this was the appearance of the fence of the Gdańsk Shipyard, where, next to the image of Merciful Jesus and Our Lady of Częstochowa, there were photos of John Paul II.
Imagine that polish coministic government REALLY did not want to even let him in Poland but position and power of our Pope was that strong and undeniably that they had to xDD
Pope gave his speech about freedom, about human dignity about western economy and stupid dignitaries were really pissed off and red on their faces including first secretary because > 20 millions ordinary people were listening his words. After his trip people got the wind in their sails.
The second was was a former and first president of independent Poland- Lach Walesa. He was a face of ,,Solidarność" which fight agaisnt expensive goods, against bad treatment of people who worked in mines, shipyards etc. He fooled all comunistic party...

I do not fucking care about Lachowski, Gandy, O Pry etc. The true chads are Walesa and Jan Pawel II.
