Two Doctors study how long dermal fillers really last with MRI (a lot longer than the advertised 6-12 months)

Fillers actually do last longer than 6-12 months, can last for years and years.


However they say that fillers can migrate around the body in places where they weren't intended, especially the lips. Since mouth area moves a lot compared to other parts of the face lip fillers tend to migrate to the upper mouth area causing the whole mouth to start to protrude.


One story a person had filler under the eyes for dark circles and years and years later they got undereye bags thinking it was just aging but then one of these Drs put filler dissolving fluid into the eye bag and it dissolved, it was residual filler still there that pooled


Also they say regular users of fillers after years of touch ups get a bloated look to face and cheeks cause they think the fillers have dissolved by now but they are really just piling more filler into the face




TLDR fillers can last up to 3-4 years
