Can someone tell me how the ucl works. i wanna get into football but i dont know where to start and who to root for.

It’s the best competition in club football. It’s recently changed to a league phase then knockouts where before you had groups then knockouts.

You have 4 pots of 9 teams with 1 having the strongest teams and 4 usually the weakest so there’s 36 teams overall.

Each team plays 2 teams from each pot for a total of 8 league games. A win is 3 points. Draw is 1 point and loss is zero points.

The top best 8 teams go through to the round of 16. The teams ranked from 9 to 24 play a knockout round and the winners meet against the top 8 in the round of 16.

Then it’s your basic round of 16, QF ect. Usually the strongest teams avoid each other until much later due to the seedings
