Don't be fooled. The average person is no better off than living in second world countries - which have caught up in making the essentials of life (e.g. TV, fridge, car, property, computer are now the norm not the luxury).
The GBP currency still has a stronger purchasing power, maybe you get to buy the latest gadgets and continue to believe the bullshit that were the 5/6th largest economy - like as if that has any bearing or relevance to you JFL
Wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few (water) but the disparity between rich and poor which is the most pronounced in places like London - supposedly one of the biggest financial centers in the world. You see people in Lamborghinis driving past tons of homeless people and 90% of population spending 3/4 of their income on rent and transport. We are creating a 'lost generation' akin to Japan of the last century, of producing consistently educated but unemployed people. But no one cares, emphasis on technological innovations can supposedly automate and turn entire industries jobless.
The FTSE and many other indexes have recovered and assets are are at all time highs. Landlords raking in a monthly income likewise. Energy bills ATH due to Zelensgay support- now the UK understand what it's like to be sanctioned. For years, alongside the UK, US and other EU countries it put non-compliant countries under sanctions now it's getting a taste of its own medicine. Albeit Russia is hurting too, but the doomsday prophecy about how Russian economy will collapse was total bullshit. Anyway I'm digressing...
If you're a UKcel LEAVE ASAP! This bitch is a sinking ship only it's legacies are holding the ship up at the moment. Ditch the pound, convert your whatever little savings into safe assets like the swiss franc, gold or even USD because no one fucks with the USA (sad but true).
