UK people GTFIH

Yes all my friends who did econ earn double what I do with a masters in engineering, given they have to work in London. This only works if you go to to a target like LSE and do investment banking / analyst / actuary just rope if you end up in audit or accountancy. You can look up avg salary per sector UK , its medicine no.1 , as they all get paid the same, then finance but due to there being lots of low paying finance jobs it skews the avg but there are still plenty really high paying ones.
I saw a video explaining how the whole accounting job sector is gonna be taken over by AI, the junior positions at least

education exists simply to condition the mind and make you a diligent worker ant, work fulltime fuck college save money explore possibilities, there's a lot of opportunity to make money online nowadays

I’m 16 in the uk and have no clue what the fuck to even do. I get good grades an shit and prolly gonna get like all 8s and 9s in my GCSEs this year, they’re fucking easy. People tell me I should start revising this year so I get in the habit of it for college but icl all this education shit bores me.

I have a few questions:
Is college going to be hard and should I be prepared to start studying for it?

I have no clue what I wanna do, do the a levels of physics maths and either bio or chem sound good? Like I think I’ll js do something engineering related but it all js takes so much fucking time js wanna enjoy my life bro 😭

Any other advice pls lmk ik this is all worded rlly shit
Maths at A level is a massive jump, needs to be taken seriously. I have friends who struggle passing maths at A level despite getting 9s at GCSE

Alr I’m gonna practise my revising for the next few months

Uni in the UK is borderline free even if the student loan rate goes up to 10k per year your SFE can cover that if you get the maximum

Get good A level grades then go to a top uni and start. business while at uni

Genuinely the best advice is go and pick up a trade

Go and do something like construction or mechanical

anything that involves in like a trade

However, if you’re getting good grades you can try and becoming an ER

Not the supreme gentleman but becoming a doctor or lawyer

Typically, those careers take very long to succeed in

Going into the trade will be your best lifeline

Agreed uni isnt worth it nowadays unless youre doing a stem type course

Even a geography degree from a target uni (Oxbridge, LSE) is worth it
And are you going to get into one of those top unis? I know people who were studying alevel further maths in y9 that still didnt get accepted into oxbridge

Lol if you're getting outcompeted by immigrants and then complaining about it

That's on you

It's a capitalist country, why wouldn't they want more slaves?

Obviously not because then it wouldn't be an issue?

Why would someone choose an unqualified person over a qualified person?

There are people better than you.

They gave it to some freshie

They gave it to some freshie
So a freshie was better than you?

No person in their right mind would sacrifice their profit margins by giving someone less qualified a job over a significantly more qualified person.

Unless there was more to it.

Your logic doesn't make sense bud

don't listen to the idiot saying 'dont do a levels' and 'dont do further maths'.

do stem a levels or economics (better than business) and further maths if you can handle it. apply good unis and apply good apprenticeships alongside uni because they are becoming more and more popular as uni becomes less worth it.

best paying jobs would be doctor, lawyer, finance, engineering the same old. for those you need good degree/good apprenticeship.

Do I need chem for engineering, or should I do maths physics and FM

I still don’t know what engineering sector to go into, don’t sum require chem?
if you want to go into chem eng it does im pretty sure

just look at uni websites and different engineering courses and the subject requirements

but most of the people in my skl trying to get into engineering took math fm physics

FM with 3 subjects will often disadvantage you esp if you go to private sch.

recommend doing FM as a 4th subject.

Currently, I use my skills in editing to make money, due to school and shit I have limited time so I only edit for one client at the moment but I put in like 8 hours of effort or so and get about £90 for the vid which is 10-12 minutes long. 1 vid a week. I plan on either taking on multiple clients after my GCSEs or working a job alongside the editing which might be more suitable as i can put it on my CV right?
