An ugly, working-class male is the lowest of the low in society. He's exactly what Nietchze was referring to when he described "mediocre men". Forever confined to a crappy job, no romantic prospects and no friends. Absolutely 0 sense of drive or purpose. He then developed self-awareness of his situation and so began the victim-blaming game.

Life is all about luck. There is no "just world" fallacy. He realised that he could work hard but it would take him nowhere. It's because he is bottlenecked by socioeconomic circumstances, which ended up depriving him of opportunities. Also, there is a genetic component that keeps "mediocre men" in their place (i.e. low IQ, poor brain chemistry and ugliness). No one wants to confront the harsh truth of genetic immutability or even the role of environmental determinants that we have no control over.

More and more men are becoming self-aware because there is no religion to ground them. There is no end game or higher purpose. 200 years ago this guy would have been providing rent on the fields for his feudal landlord. In this scenario: 1) he would have had a wife and kids that he met locally to provide for. No globalisation and no Tinder for women to act hypergamous. 2) he likely would have been religious and believe in a higher cause to justify his suffering. 3) And finally he wouldn't have had the knowledge or extrospection to confront his subhumanity.

Expanding on the aforementioned point, we now live in a hyper-individualistic and materialistic society where people are constantly consuming media that reminds them of their subhumanity. Whether it be inceldom, money or status - people are constantly comparing themselves on social media and it is fuelled by the profit motive of meticulously crafted marketing strategies. It results in a "race to the bottom" rat race, where "mediocre men" are self-improving with no prospects of escaping their physiological cage. It's feeding us the pipe dream of consumerist fantasies, unlimited wealth and dopamine hooks.

More on the point of commodification... think about an incel's plight in the West. Everything in this society is hyper-sexualised. Marketers use scantily dressed women to sell products, while constantly reminding the incel of what he is not allowed to have. It's all appealing to the primordial urges of our monkey-brained limbic systems and very few men are strong-willed enough to ignore it.

I think incels become programmed to realise these harsh truths. A normie might return to a wife he can have starfish sex with after finishing a long, arduous day of work in his wage cage. Maybe he will meet up with friends once in a blue moon to cope. It's all about coping and an incel's copeometer gets depleted quickly because nothing fills the void of having 0 social interactions. You're providing for a system that gives nothing back to you.

Some will cope with it better than others (ironically determined by your brain chemistry). Nihilism can be a blessing or a curse, depending on how you look at it. It can be a slippery slope that either leaves you in the abyss of depression or make you a carefree stoic that accepts his subhumanity in a world of nothingness.

The coping aspect of religion with an afterlife/higher purpose was the cherry on top. Religion's primary society-building function was laying the blueprint of sexual distribution to the majority of the male population. Without the prospect of sex, the majority of men cannot be efficiently worked to support the power establishment.
