I dont think theres a gender balance within the actual country of ukraine because all the men miltiary age (aka your competition) were banned from leaving whereas almsot all the young women left for other european countries, mostly Poland, Germany and Hungary but other nations as welll.

Russia is probably a better bet because the men actually left the country to go to ukraine to fight whereas very few russian women will have been able to leave russia themselves
