What? Rus is literally Russia, it spamed from todays Ukraine until Finland in north. When mongols conquered the heartland they made the northern principalities vassals, and one of those vassals was Muscovy. The Lithuanian state then reconqured Ukraine from Mongols, while Muscovy united the other northern principalities, at 1650 they re conquered Ukraine from Lithuania and by 1700 the country got renamed to Russia (previously Muscovy)
