I always support the underdogs as I've always been an underdog myself. Ukrainian soldiers; citizens and politicians chose to stay and fight even though they know it means 100% death

Honestly how much of that is true. I was reading some of the background on the war and it seems like all of this started because ukraine wanted closer ties with the west but eastern and southern Ukraine where most people are russophones were either indifferent about it or wanted closer ties with Russia instead.
