When you're with your friend and talking to a third person (be it another friend, a stranger asking for directions, a salesperson, etc.), the latter barely, if at all, makes eye contact with you and/or engages you in the conversation. (of course, this is assuming you're not some PSL3 or less subhuman; because in that case the reason would primarily be your looks)
And if it happens that you're standing up, you might notice their feet are pointing away from you (if you're familiar with body language concepts, you'd know what that means).
The issue gets further confirmed if you mog your friend, because naturally (as you know well) people prefer engaging with good looking people and avoiding ugly ones. So just imagine how much of a freak you must be for people to prefer talking to your uglier and/or shorter friend instead of you jfl
