There’s this guy at my work that all my coworkers warned me about, he is "weird" and "a bit creepy". I went to high school with this guy and he had the same reputation of being a weirdo. Yesterday i was in team with him and yes he is a bit autistic but not weird at all, he was very nice and wasn’t annoying and he actually is very smart. We spent the whole shift talking about niche video games and politics and he actually seemed to be smiling for the first time. This morning another coworker asked me if yesterday’s shift was fun in an ironic way and I told him to fuck off, he kinda got the message and i told him that the other guy isn’t weird at all and isn’t creepy. Im going to be honest, he is not good looking at all but he is very nice and he even bought me an energy drink when i didn’t ask for it and he refused to take the money i offered him in return. I also knew that unattractive people were treated unfairly but this event really made me mad. He seems to be somewhat happy tho despite all this.

We, humans, have survived millions of years because we had empathy towards others in the tribe and had a collectivist mindset.
