if its causes by chewing on one side it means that only one is well developed, but in order to fix it, you should start to chew on the other so they will both be equal

I was in a similar situation to you, but it turns out for me.. I’ve got assymetrical rami, therefore my jaw is tilted and I’m guessing it caused uneven muscle placement
I have this due to extractions and orthodontics when I was younger
I’m assuming if you haven’t had these, there isn’t sufficient asymmetry for you to not try balancing it out using your method
Then chew solely on the other side to even it outi have no problems related to bones its just that i chewed for too much time on one side
