Uni full of HTNs and some CLs but I only see LTN couples?

My university is really big, located in a major American city with lots of students with all races, I see a LOT of HTNs and even some CLs all the time (the majority are still MTN but I still see HTNs all the time), but the only couples I've seen are LTNs/MTNs? What's going on?

I DO notice that all the HTNs often have a large "friend group" of girls around them, and I haven't seen many couples, but I brutally mog the male every couple I've seen so far and I'm literally LTN what's going on?

To be clear most of these relationships are pretty looksmatched but still
