Not really. Idk where u r. I'm in UK. I have a group of friends from my uni halls, when I had only a couple of close friends in school. I'm not that close to all these uni friends, but there's a group of us. However I have no friends on my course. U don't really need them tho as long as u have friends to live with. I'm going into second year this year. Imo it's probably better socially than school, cos at school I felt self conscious if I was sitting alone etc

i think it has to do with your level of higher education. for instance last year i was studying english (to become a teacher) and my class was filled with whites and not a single person talked to me (usually theres always someone who says something to me, often a female). for studying teaching, you go to a so-called university of applied sciences. its a step below a former university a la harvard, its basically a college. however this year i started studying at a vocational school and my class is mostly ethnics and honestly ive had a better time, everyone pretty much socializes with everyone. first day i got talked to by two ethnics (one black guy, one mulatto) whereas other ethnics didnt say anything (arabs). but on the second day the arabs and i started talking and everyone just gets along well, so far so good. but its the start of the year so it could be worse later on but for now its good. and its surprising because im ugly as fuck yet they dont mind socializing with me and they also notice i dont get women at all or their attention

tbh pandemic has fucked things up tremendously. I've got many friends at different unis so if I went to them I'd easily form groups with them but I went to the university that none of my friends except one went to for the experience which is fine cuz Ihave always been introverted but perhaps this was a weird thing to do

We didn't have dorms cuz of pandemic but last year they did and the people formed groups based off of their dorm partners and floor people etc and ofc people are in groups with their old friends from high school or not. I've joined like 2-3 clubs tho so let's see where this goes
