In 90 percent of cases your upper maxilla is also recessed , and when you fix your jaws the recession of this area will be even more pronounced

It should be the baseline the world over for this to be done. Quadramax—bsso, lefort, genioplastie, infrazygos.

Reason sfs tend to have better bimax results is because their upper maxilla is less melted and downgrown so infrazygos are not needed

and no you dont need a lefort 2 or 3.

Or soft tissue cause
My maxilla isn't short but my upper teeth show is non existent when talking and not fully uncovered when smiling, also partly cos of my plunging nose tip when I smile

and by "infrazygos" he means, zygos implants and infras (which im assuming is material that surrounds the zygos)?

I don't understand sfs, I thought it would be downward growth that would cause a plunging tip, not the other way around?

OP, please be more specific on what is required then.

I don't have sfs. And plunging tip is genetic due to the muscle pulling it down
