If your collar bone (clavicle) is angled up, you might be suffering from locked shoulders.

Why this happens?

1.-Bad sleeping posture and bad posture, overall, blocking your clavicles into your muscles

2.-Lack of mobility and elasticity. Hypertrophy and not stretching after workouts can lead to muscle fibers somehow block your collar bones not letting them rest in their natural position.

Here is an example of a healthy, natural collar bone vs a blocked one:

As you can see in the first image, the collar bone is angled neutral, and even slightly tilted downwards, which is a sign of a healty clavicle, because its natural function is to stay like that. However, in the second image, the clavicle is completely blocked by the straps because it is tilted upwards and also it is into the shoulders, independently from his frame.

How can you unlock your collarbones?

There are some sort of stretchings that might help you and make your frame 1 to 2 inches more wide:

Pendulum Swing

Bend slightly at the waist, letting your affected arm hang down. Gently swing your arm in circles or back and forth for 1-2 minutes, so your shoulder remains free

Chest Opener Stretch

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Get your hands together behind your back and gently lift your arms while opening your chest. Hold for 1 minute

This stretchings can help you to unlock your frame, there are more stretchings but i only know these ones.
Enjoy!

it’s genetics, yeah posture can affect it but some people just have upturned clavicles and there is no way to change this

Any proof this works, bro? I have v-shaped clavicles, and if I could make my shoulders even 1 cm wider, it would be worth doing the stretching, however, I doubt they work.

Doesn’t a downwards pointing clavicle make you look shorter though and a upwards one make you look taller?

Well, one friend of mine did this methods like for three weeks and he got 2 cm wide overall. However, he said that first days it literally hurts but it is a better option than shoulder pads

a downwards pointing clavicle will give you a natural position plus a better frame-waist ratio, the only inconvenient is that you wont look anymore like a rugby player because you wont be that compact but it doesnt makes you shorter:feelsez:
