HOW TO FIND YOUR RAMUS LENGTH

Most people struggle to tell whether their gonial angle is good, close to ideal, or poor. This short guide explains one of the ways (not the main one) to evaluate your gonial structure and understand the base of your jawline.

1. Figure Out Your Gonion-to-Mouth Level (shitty image example ik)

Take a neutral side-profile photo with good lighting and a natural posture.
Now look closely at where the gonion area (not the masseter) aligns with your lips.
Ask yourself:
  • Is it above your lower lip?
  • Is it below your lower lip?
  • Does it line up directly with your lower lip?

2. EVALUATE

1. Gonion Above Your Lower Lip

If your gonion area is above your lower lip, this typically means you have a higher gonial angle.
This usually results in:
  • A softer, rounded mandible structure
  • softer jaw angle
  • Less chin projection
  • A disproportionate lower third (less width or height)

2. Gonion Below Your Lower Lip

If your gonion area is below your lower lip, it’s often the result of a good or near-ideal gonial angle.
This usually leads to:

1762341233842
1762341245260

  • A stronger mandible structure
  • Straight or outward gonions
  • A proportionate lower third (depending on other skull ratios)
  • giving a more masculine lower third

If your gonion-to-mouth level is already close to ideal but your jaw structure still feels weak, chewing exercises can help improve muscle tone and overall definition.

I don't understand what this idiot wants to prove by posting my photo in response to a joke. Has autism really eaten away all his brains?
