Update on Semiretiredbob my favorite schadenfreude Youtube Channel

I have commented on this channel in the past, but I have never made a thread about it. TLDR: Bob, Now 61, lost 150+ lbs on the Carnivore diet which he began May 2022. By virtue of this weight loss he now thinks he is a diet, health, exercise expert and posts frequent youtube advice. In reality he is frail and in well below average physical condition for his age. He lives a ghetto life in a basement apartment and subsists on Social Security Disability, and the few dollars he makes from working part time at a miniature golf course. He regularly over states his physical abilities (eg. claims he can do 40 pushups, when he can't do one actual pushup, he just sort of flexes his arms 2" and calls it a pushup, grossly overstates the distance of his walks) and sets grossly unrealistic goals. He said he was going to through hike the entire Appalachian Trail and film every step of it in 2024, now that plan has been moved to 2025 (zero chance this happens, realistically he would not be able to hike with a backpack at a sustainable rate of more than 25 miles/week) He has bought 10 acres of crap land in West Texas that he plans to build an off grid 'house' made out of a shipping container, that was supposed to start late 2023, and has been moved to late 2024. He stopped reporting his weight more than a year ago, but it is clear he has gained at least 20lbs in the past year. His channel reached peak popularity about 2 years ago when he was rapidly loosing weight, reaching 35,000 views per month, he fully expected his view count to continue to rise to over 100,000 views per month and talked about his plans to hire editors for his videos when he reached 100,000 views per month, but he now he only gets about 8,000 views per month. Curiously his subscriber count has continued to slowly increase despite this great decline in views, I guess some people just never unsubscribe to anything. His current viewership falls into 3 groups, schadenfruede viewers like me, morbidly obese trailpark types that find him inspiring, other carnivore youtubers trying to network.

Time for an update!
Bob has gained another 20 lbs since the OP 11 months ago.
As expected, he did not hike the Appalachian Trail in 2025. Nor has he done a hike of any distance since the OP. I think the longest walk he has done in the past year is 1.1 miles (he claimed it was 1.5 miles, but I checked the route on google maps, clearly it was only 1.1 miles.) He no longer mentions the hiking or the Appalachia Trail.
He loaded up his trailer and drove his truck down to his crap 10 acre lot in TX back in Oct 2024, only to discover that the lot had no drivable access. Shocker!, a lot you bought sight unseen with owner financing from a guy that got the lot via a Tax Deed turns out to be unaccessible. He drove back to Omaha, and arranged to swap the lot for another lot the same guy got on a different Tax Deed in another part of Texas. The swap was in November, and he claimed it would have been too dangerous for him to drive back to Texas in November, so he spent the winter in Omaha, of course that makes no sense, but non of his followers questioned him about it.
His views remain at about 5,000/month. He still has this loyal group of fat low IQ losers that identify with him and watch his videos. His views had spiked back in May when his main YT competitor, oldguycarnivore, had a stroke, but Bob's views are back now to were they were pre stroke.
He still works part time at a miniature Golf Course.
His 25 year old truck had some major problem back in about February that required about $4,000 in work. From what I have been able to discern he financed the repairs with an auto shop, defaulted on the payments, and had the truck reposed (but he told people it had been stolen, as if anyone would steal a 25 year old truck). He then went out and bought an old Ford Escape and financed that. And supposedly intends to convert that into a ghetto camper van. I don't see how he is going to be able to tow a loaded trailer with an Escape.

Today he posted that he injured his knee doing air squats, jfl. He can only walk now at like 2 mph, down from his geriatric standard of 3 mph. His world just keeps gets smaller, but he keeps posting videos pretending to be a diet and health expert, and an off grid living expert.

Update time!!
He continues to gain weight, I estimate he is now 90 lbs over his weight in the thumbnail he continues to use (see prior post). That is a weight gain of more than 60% of the weight he lost from muh! carnivore. He never shows himself below his shoulders now, I have to make this weight assessment off his face and the occasional shadow of him I see in his videos.

He has basically been recovering from one injury or another constantly since my last update post 9 months ago. He is continually re-injuring himself. He has only made 48 videos, averaging 10 minutes each, in the past 9 months. Only 1 video in the past month. If he posted regularly he would be getting 3500 views per month, his actual numbers are much lower, he is essentially making zero bank now.

Unsurprisingly his plan to go to Texas in October to work on his "homestead" that he talks about all the time, and for which the channel is named, got put off till November, then December, then cancelled entirely. He is essentially just a shut in now that larps as a active and fit person with big plans. Muh "I can do things now I could not do when I was 40"

He never did any of the camper van conversion videos he said he was going to do, and in as far as I can tell the only thing he has actually done to the van is to pay someone to remove the rear seats, and to have someone help him put a donated cargo unit on the roof of the van.
