Upper and lower jaw

Is it true that a narrow upper jaw can inhibit the growth of the lower jaw? If so, how can it be fixed at age 18? Perhaps an MSE appliance and braces, or something like that?

Yes but your 18 you dont have much jaw growth left if your goal with mse is jaw growth just get surgery
