Basically what hes saying is that men act freely while women always have to act within the paramaters set by men. Men stare at women while women see themselves being looked at by the men. Women have to conform to mens desire and this is somethign socially ingrained. When I first heard this quote in school I immediatly thought about all the aspie autists on here who practice NT facial expressions and just generally all the autists on here who are obsessed with how they are being perceived. This leads me to conclude that men are becoming increasingly feminine as we become more conscious and aware of how we are being perceived compared to the actions we are taking. For most of human history men have been the leaders and workers while women on the majority focused more on family and appearence. In modern times, as evident by this forum and the looksmaxxing trend, this is changing. Statistics show that more women are getting advanced education then men are. Men are becoming obsessed with their appearence, and it seems like men are bending themselves to appeal to the female gaze. Insane cultural shift. If you are aware of this, I think it leads to interesting ideas.
