Using sedating antihistamines to low inhib max

Has anyone tried using antihistamines like chlorpheniramine prescribed for runny noses to low inhib max. I have plenty prescribed by my doctor and I turn really chill after taking a pill.
Are there any side effects I should be aware of from consuming them on a regular basis?
