Yeah its just a blood pressure medication, it was made a while ago as a regular pill you take if you have high blood pressure, but then they found that if you put it in your scalp it causes more blood to get to hair follicles so they grow thicker denser hair. There is no science ive ever seen about it inhibiting dht and that thread didnt provide any source about minoxidil, I think he just lumped it in with other anti-androgen medications for hair

Yeah its fine, you gonna put it on your beard? Only bad thing I know of is that it can cause skin irritation but I dont know if thats the minoxidil or if its the fluid they put the minoxidil in as a vehicle
