Ask him about the buccal fat pad cheek augmentation costs etc.( He transpositions the buccal fat pads to the zygo area to give more volume). Also good luck with your surgery.

Tell us how it went after :). Tag me because I plan on having a consultation with him.
>Ask him to outline your surgery plan. If your getting bimax or genio ask him for rough movements. Useful for comparison.
>Cost and payment options.
>Ask him what he can do with regards to your soft tissue concerns. Also ask him to see how often he does it. If he only does surgery X occasionally your probably bettter off getting X surgery elsewhere. What are you trying to achieve?
> I would also outline all your aesthetic concerns to see how he will address them.
>If you need braces ask for a reference to an orthodontist.

Thanks, I'll let you know the summary. I hope he can do a morph soon, if I fit for what I would like to achieve.

Yes, I will ask him about his experience regarding my case, as it seems a bit more complex (had already implants, all good, but around my mouth the skin is not taught, and getting (with age) slowly worse in the absence of (I guess) bony support, additionally my midface seems a bit even more depressed after the implants, as my zygoma widened, my chin/jaw became more pronounced, but my midface stayed the same, so I think not only the sagging part, but the harmony /balance of my face was thrown off as well (my mouth, which is quite narrow became proportionally narrower as well after implants), so my goal is to stretch the skin, and get a better harmony in my face. I would like to ask im about the big picture, not only bimax (if necessary) alone.

Will do man.

how much do you pay for consult

So had the consultation, Dr Alfaro seems like a chill person, and as many before already wrote already had an impression how to address my case:

  1. Bimax surgery, as my midface is "sunken", that is what gives the underdeveloped look, and the lack of support.
  2. He explained all the pre- and post-operative necessities.
  3. I highlighted, hence it is an aesthetic purpose I'll go under the surgery, if a proper advancement will be possible, otherwise I'm not doing it, as even the micro-fractures, it is still good part of commitment, he seemed to understand, so will make sure personally we are completely on the same page.
  4. What I already suspected, I will have to fly over to make some more measurements, so unfortunately a detailed plan will be done in Barcelona.
  5. So in details (which is the essence :) will be done in January.
  6. And I'll need ortho as well, will decide there if before, or after the surgery it would be more beneficial.

So far so good, I haven't been tagging anybody yet, so someone show me, and will tag later :).

Sunken = Recessed maxilla, and long face combination.

Hi cels,

just a quick update, I met Dr Alfaro in Barc., will have a longer consultation tomorrow (they did another cbct here, other morphs of the upper-lower dental arch etc.), I just wanted to let you know, that he seems to be the right person/hand to put your skull into, it is a feeling yet, but I guess (other than telling the surgeon your goals, you cannot do much) chemistry is crucial before a decision this size.

And btw he asked if I want to remove the implants, I'm leaning towards (not decided yet) removing all of them if possible (it is true indeed, that cheek implants can make you really bloated, at least in my case it seems that happened).

If anything interesting comes up, I'll report (unfortunately won't really have too much time to answer each questions, but will try to report the useful stuff).

So I had my personal consultation with Dr Alfaro. He is a busy guy for sure, all in all the whole clinic (the stuff, the doctors, the patient coordinator) made a very positive impression.

He personally def knows his area of expertise, but also open to make some changes (I expressed to make the most pronounced change possible without messing up harmony, but changing my midface logically). The coordinator is also a nice woman, and super helpful (it is her job, so again understandably she has to) and the atmosphere is very positive there (maybe I'm a bit biased, as spanish people and culture I find very close to me).

Still will wait until the price offer, and go on accordingly. Peace!

goodluck, you know anything about his prices yet?

Yep, with the prices I'm a bit confused, as I received the quote, but it seems a lot more different (a lot higher), than what I expected, according to what others received in terms of price range also her on this forum (these prices were not from years ago, so I dunno).

On reddit there is a thread, what someone wrote couple of days ago, that for the same operation the prices are very different. A guy from US received a lot higher price than his friend, who is from EU (I'm also in EU). I asked his coordinator about it specifically, now waiting for the response, I hope the price can be lower, or similar to what guys wrote recently.
