So I just visited one of the best orthodontists in my country and one of the only ones with expertise in jaw extension surgery. I thought it would give me hope, but its suifuel because:
-The orthodontist recommended not to get jaw enlargement surgery because it would be more expensive. She told me that my lower jaw is only 4-5mm shorter than my upper jawline and that he clinic only offers surgeries for people with a length difference between jaws of 9mm+. The real suicidefuel is that she told me that even if I were to have such a surgery, my jaw would still recede back to my current recessed position because Im an adult, and my jaw muscles cant grow proportionally with the length of my jaw unless Im in prepuberty.
-She said she can fix my deep bite, but she would have to remove one of my fourth teeth in order to realign the side of my jaw thats causing the deep bite, and the only way to do that would be for me to wear braces for 2+ years after the tooth removal, with constant checkups every 6 weeks. I would be ok with wearing braces since Im unattractive anyway, but she said this whole procedure would cost 3500+$ together with everything combined. This is completely unaffordable.
-She seemed pretty bluepilled and kept asking me why would I want to get my deep bite fixed if I didnt have apnea. She implied national health insurance wouldnt cover any of my costs since my deep bite doesnt bring any health problems for me.
This sucks. I wont be able to have that much money saved until im in my 30s and that might be too late
. Morover, Im doomed to have low forward growth.
