Vitamin C serum and acne

Will using 10% vitamin c serum make active acne worse? Want to use it to fade red marks from old pimples

It's mostly just the icing on the cake. I use it after exfoliating + benzoyl peroxide rub to smoothen my skin

I don't think it does anything for acne
