If Putin recalls all his troops back, that leaves Russia's border vulnerable to military penetration.

If Ukraine, working alongside NATO (USA/UK) advances on Russia, thus taking advantage of the civil war, ugh, right? A Ukrainian government would be installed in Russia. Which means, NATO's at China's doorstep.
