A gym exclusively for Southpaws as I'm a lefty Southpaw myself.

Thinking of having Boxing, Kickboxing, Judo, Wrestling, BJJ, Muay Thai and Kyokushin Karate(Kyokushin is the only legitimate Karate that actually works and is accepted by the MMA community)on the roster.

I think the rent for the gym might be around Singapore $10 000.

Equiptment might cost around $3000, heavy bags, cobra bags, mitts and pads and mats(for Judo, Wrestling, BJJ).

I'm thinking of having student fees at $250 a month, with 3 times a week, 1 hour each lesson.

I'm planning on opening 6 days a week.

I want to open only 5 hours a day because I have to train on my own myself.(for the rest of the day).

5 students max per session.

5 hours per day means 30 hours per week. Divide that by 3(because the same student comes 3 times per week) you get 10 × 5(because 5 students per session) = 50 students.

50 × 250 = $12 500 salary per month.

The gym needs to be fairly big.

Maybe I can secure a space at $5000.

So that means a profit of about $8000 per month.

Willing to negotiate interest for investment.

Dude I'm teaching the whole package, 3 times per week, that means 12 lessons per month.

That's a great offer and value for money.

I'll be honest. I have none in the sense that I've not gotten into pro fights or trained under an expert for many years.

But I'm the real deal. I train EVERYDAY. Shadowboxing by watching pro fights, researching tutorials constantly.

I'm starting the gym because

#1 I want to give other Southpaws a chance, it's very difficult to find high quality Southpaw instructors especially for Judo, Wrestling and BJJ

#2 I want to see how they learn, their learning process will give me insight

#3 It's never too late

#4 it would be an auxiliary to my MMA career, eat, train, sleep in my gym

Also $250 per month means $20 per session. That's an insane offer. No gym gives this cheap.

The whole philosophy is to uplift and give an opportunity for Southpaws.

That’s a lie. My gym is 2 sessions per day, 6 days a week. £90 a month. And it’s BJJ.

I know MMA gyms open all day incl weights room, 5 sessions a day, £60 a month and they’re being trained by legit fighters.

Singapore $250 is US $190.

We're talking about 12, 1 hr lessons per month.

The gyms in Singapore are generally expensive because of rental fees. Think New York, USA.

You're numbers are totally wrong, like are you legit 'slow'?

I'm a banker, working in strategy with a sizeble focus on M&A, and I look at, and even make these kinds of things day jn day out, oh an I also own a couple of gyms in SEA.

Like I'm always shocked that people start businesses with thinking like this, then complain why they fuck up.

Are you good at MMA btw? It'd a big part of growing your chain, you have to be good, ideally get someone like a Gracie to certify you, like make a video gassing u up. Have you been to Brazil ir Thailand or usa or Holland or UK or France to develop yourself into a high level??

@FailedNormieManlet have u seen this??

It would be best if you gain some recognition first even if it is from other established and fairly recognised southpaws (Sergio or erislandy etc) or at least someone who can give your business a headstart

After that the most initial step I would've taken was set a standpoint for myself. Like credentials and stuff. If you don't have that there's no point in attempting or you will get minimal gains from investing in this sector since people really expect the teacher/owner to be skilled/fairly recognised himself.

Only then I would think of investing here. Your base is set and investments are ready. Only clients are required now which can be easily done by advertising and such

That's great I need your advice. We can work together.

No I'm dead serious.

You know very well I'm fucking serious when it comes to MMA.

I started out in my teens being bullied constantly so I had to adapt quick and learn the brutality of realism.

I'm not joking around.

I just contacted my gym and they say they are now charging Singapore $300 a month with unlimited access. They have elite level instructors, so we have to bring the price down to $150 per student per month.

That's means $7500 - $5000(gym space rental) = $2500 profit.

I only want to gain experience and help people nothing more.

No man you're totally wrong.

First are you good at MMA?? Are you Gracie or some other Brazilian certified? Or certified by some Thai guy.?

Make a business plan, then go approach a bank for a business loan, they will call out the immediate issues in the plan,。so then go fix them, then I can help you nip/tuck that shit.

Also why don't u do partnership with manlet?

The question is were they undercards or fighting main events or better yet won belts.

US $60 per week is $240 per month. Singapore $325 per month.

That's about the same as my gym, Evolve.

Gracies are BJJ. Thais are Muay Thai.

BJJ alone will not help in an MMA fight. You need setups and be prepared for wrestling takedowns and rushing in strikers.

Even wrestler Ben Askren got knocked out by Jorge Misvidal in 5 seconds.

Anyways...

I'm setting the fees at $150 per month

This is the data for the top gyms

We will be the cheapest and best deal in all of Singapore $150 per month for 12 classes.

That's like $10.50 per session.

Manlet is right handed, he's young. My gym concept is exclusively Southpaw.

We would need to get him a work permit and a place to stay and cost of living etc

Name of instructors?

No way any solid gym with experienced fighters charge $60 per month unlimited. They would go out of business.

This is the cheapest for any MMA gym in Singapore.

Most mma gyms head coach is only an expert in 1 or max 2 arts, then the lower coaches do the rest.

Even some nobody like Kron Gracie could open an mma gym somewhere and it would be top 3 most subscribed gyms in the town, for mma.

U know if u make it Southpaw only you cutting your possible revenues by 95% right?

What's your next idea, open a frozen yogurt shop in helsinki???

U wanna under cut the market, despite catering to a niche???

U know the whole point of a niche business is to charge more right? Very high margin to make up for lower volumes to ensure variable cost coverage

I love mma.

But I am broke.
Gambled my money away in shtcoins

A gym exclusively for Southpaws as I'm a lefty Southpaw myself.
I don't get this.

Mma niggas need to lefty and righty. Need to be versatile, unpredictable.
Not just coping with 1 stance

I don't think you understand how MMA works?

There are NO BJJ base fighters in MMA because you need stand up to setup for groundgame/BJJ.

So almost ALL MMA fighters have SOME level of training in striking/Boxing/KickBoxing or Muay Thai/Karate.

The reverse is usually the case. Most fighters specialize in striking then focus in groundgame.

BJJ is absolutely fucking useless in self defense/street fighting because 1) the ground will be concrete 2) even if you submit the person, when you are done with them they can get up and hit you 3) you will be surrounded by people who will kick you in the head when you're on the ground.

Wrestlers like Chael Sonnen perform alright but the best fighters now are Kick Boxers or Muay Thai guys.

My mission to learn and teach all the arts, it's meant to facilitate Southpaws. THERE ARE ALMOST NO SOUTHPAW BJJ OR JUDO INSTRUCTORS.

Also my gym will only have me as the coach open for 5 hours a day only. It's enough for one instructor.

Finally Singapore has 6 million residents and I'm ONLY looking for 50 students. I'm not selling scissors or sewing machines.

Man you do Finance, I do martial arts.

I just gave you the link in one of my posts above about the fees for the top gyms in Singapore.

My gym - Evolve MMA - charges $300 per month for beginners where there's like 6 students per class, it's not one on one(one in one is for serious/pro fighter students who want to compete where the instructor tailors the regiment for the student and gives him more attention).

Since I'm not an elite fighter I will have to charge as low as possible.

Not just coping with 1 stance

Unless you are extremely intelligent, you should only focus on one stance, your natural stance.

I know the advantage of switching stances(it causes confusion and throws your opponent off). BUT that only works with an Orthodox vs another Orthodox because 1) Orthodox will be confused and unprepared against an Orthodox switching to Southpaw 2) Southpaws are accustomed to facing Orthodox 3) a Southpaw switching to Orthodox is comfortable/normal for an Orthodox opponent, you might get your asskicked as a Southpaw when you switch to Orthodox facing an Orthodox

There are very few right handers who do Southpaw completely like Many Pacquiao.

Ur gym is provincial uk man, his is singapor3le, stuff costs more, basically for something like a gym, assume a decent gym like say virgin in uk would be £50 a month in uk, in sing would be about 300 sgd best case, so basically everything costs 3x in sing
