I spent two hours reading a military history book. It made me feel like a top-brass in the Pentagon for a bit. But after thinking it over, I realized how pointless and destructive human conflicts are. So many wars start and drag on over absolute nonsense.

Is it really worth it, knowing corrupt politicians stay comfy while people kill each other? Your enemy is just like you—someone’s son, brother, or friend with dreams of his own. He doesn’t even want to be there.

Is it worth it when women are living their lives while you're rotting in the trenches, dodging artillery and FPV drones?

I agree. The outcome that guarantees the least amount of human suffering should always be the preferred option.
Sadly the world is run by psychopaths who value profit over human life so anyone living under their rule will always be subjected to at least some form of destruction.

Though I have great respect for the men who have gone to war fighting for noble causes
