My poverty-tier family also did their best to larp as middle-class tbh. It's the picture they tried to uphold to the outside world.

Meanwhile in reality my dad was doing shit like mixing the washing detergent with water to increase the volume, to save a few euros per year.
Our car regularly ran out of gas, because there was no money to fill it up so each time we were at the gas station we would only buy 10 litres max.
